Figure
2. M. tamulus sPLA2 amino
acid sequence alignment.
(a)
Sequence alignment with imperatoxin I from Pandinus imperator.
By analogy with imperatoxin I, MtsPLA2 comprises of (1) signal
sequence; (2) large enzymatic sub-unit; (3) pentameric connecting peptide;
(4) small sub-unit.
(b) Sequence alignment with other group III sPLA2s from Drosophila
melanogaster, Homo sapiens, Heloderma suspectum and Apis mellifera. The Ca2+ binding
loop and active site motifs are shown in boxes, the conserved residues and the
cysteines are shown in bold. Hyphens are used to maximize the alignment and dots
denote the end of the sequence. Numbers at the end of the sequences denote the
percent homology to MtsPLA2. |
