Figure 5. Effect of the CGRP like molecules purified from sardine hydrolysates (gel exclusion chromatography) on the CGRP (l) and glucagon (¡) stimulated adenylate cyclase activity in rat liver membranes. Incubations were performed in the presence of either 4 ng/ml CGRP or 200 ng/ml glucagon and increasing concentrations of molecules obtained after the first chromatographic step (Toyopearl HW 40). Results were expressed as the percent of adenylate cyclase activity in the absence of the purified molecules. They are the mean ± S.E.M. of triplicate determinations of a single experiment. Similar results were observed in two other experiments.
