*% Dechlorination: calculated from the stoichiometric theoretical value. Growth tests were carried out in minimal medium liquid cultures with 0.2-2 mM carbon source and incubated for up to 10 days. For dechlorination assays cells were pre-grown on the corresponding non-chlorinated substrate. In the case of chlorocatechols cells were pre-grown on 2 mM benzoate. Dechlorination was determined after 1 day with 1 mM substrate. **n.a.: non applicable. |
